What are you up to on the 14th of June? Perhaps you’re going crazy to Rob Zombie at Download Festival, or maybe you’re just sunning it up on a lovely June Friday, but regardless, what we should all be doing is reveling in the lovely new Baroness album. Yep, Baroness are due to release their eagerly awaited new album, Gold & Grey on the 14th June, and if new single, ‘Borderlines’ is anything to go by, it’s gonna be a good one.

The band’s last effort Purple saw the euphoric heavy metallers achieve musical perfection, their efforts culminating in a much sought after Grammy award, and the band seem to only want to build on this. Employing the efforts of Purple producer, Dave Fridmann for Gold & Grey, Baroness are wholly setting themselves up to set 2019 heavy music alight, and I can’t wait.

If I’ve not excited you enough yet, I’ll leave you on a quote by Baroness founder and musical God, John Baizley “Our goal is, was, and will always be to write increasingly superior, more honest and compelling songs, and to develop a more unique and challenging sound. I’m sure we have just finished our best, most adventurous album to date. We dug incredibly deep, challenged ourselves and recorded a record I’m positive we could never again replicate.”
