For a Wednesday in Margate, I wasn’t sure how this one was going to pan out, but everyone came out for this one!

First hitting the stage for their very first time are local pop punk rockers That Thing You Do. They seem to have a lot of friends in the crowd to support them which brings the guys out of their shells. For a 20 minute set, they pulled out all the stops and have a variety of songs to show what they’re made of.

Next up are local rockers The Circus Birds. Vocalist Josh Caiste shows off his local range throughout their tight set, and the crowd are clearly loving it as they jump around. Some of their songs have a blues feel to it, which I think makes them stand out. I’m sure there are great thing to come for these guys.

Hitting the stage next are main support Superlove. With their funny persona on stage, it’s impossible to not love this band. Even though they’re feeling 100% as we’re close to the end of the tour, they gave it all they’ve got and still had tonnes of energy. They start their set with their most recent single I Love It, and we hear their track Bring A Holiday which is perfect for the cold winter weather which went really well with the crowd, we even had mosh pits! Flooded with catchy chorus’ and an energy you can’t resist, I can guarantee you’d have a good time seeing Superlove.

Roam are set to take the stage next. With the crowd tightly pressed against the stage ready and waiting, Roam come out and burst in to their track Better In Than Out. The crowd were still full of spirit and were giving their all screaming out lyrics. The guys in Roam have also been effected with this tour run (with no days off!), so are feeling a little under the weather, but they’re making tonight worthwhile and giving it everything they’ve got.

We are treated with a song they don’t usually play live Tracks, which went down really well with the crowd. With Deadweight making an appearance in to their set, the audience widened the pit in the small, packed out room and chanted along with the vocalist Alex Costello. The harmonies between guitarist Alex Adam and lead vocalist Alex Costello is tight and you simply can’t fault it. As the pit hits full force, smiles come across all members faces, and it’s lovely to see how much they are enjoying it.

Seeing Roam headline such a small venue was a real pleasure, and it’s great to see a band supporting local venues in the industry.
