Silent Scream’s newest single “Low” is officially out. It’s the first song from the upcoming album, which is going to be released in early 2018. For now it is untitled, meanwhile they’re whetting our appetites by teasing us with their latest release.
They’ve had a winding path on their route to success with a few changes to the formation of the band and their label .However none of this has fazed them.
They were formed in 2007 by bass and vocalist Tom Craig, guitarist Sam Varney, guitarist Ozzi Osman, drummer Adam Mallabone and vocalist James Ryan. Not long after they started working on their first EP-9 years ago with the help of Producer Matt Hyde. He is best known for producing well known bands such as As I lay dying and Funeral For A Friend.
Silent Screams then went on to self release “Ghosts“. The band then signed with Ghost Music and in 2011 released their first full length called “When It Rains“, which was recorded and produced by Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, Miss May I). They shot a video for the title track and started gaining attention worldwide. Which in turn created a lasting snowball effect.
Silent Screams has since been through a line up change replacing lead vocalist James Ryan with Joel Heywood in 2012. The band has since signed with Artery Recordings and in 2014 released their second full length “Hope For Now“. The sophomore album has done incredibly well and had very impressive chart positions.
Following the touring cycle for Hope For Now, Tom decided to leave the band for personal reasons. The Band recruited Mikey Scrivens a long time friend of the band to be the new bass player/singer. Mikey joined the band on tours with The Browning and Asking Alexandria. The band recorded the single “LOVE//LESS” featuring Mikey on vocals. Following the 2017 european tour with Asking Alexandria, Mikey decided touring wasn’t for him and he stepped aside.
However the band kept good relations with Tom and spoke to him about potentially working together on future projects. Tom decided to rejoin Silent Screams and they started working on the bands third studio album.
The band began writing and record their third studio album in 2017. It’s been 2 years since their sophomore album was released, and you’ll be glad to know that you can expect a shiny new album in early 2018.
However if that won’t satisfy you thirst for pure metal, be sure to catch them on tour with In Hearts Wake and Gideon. Grab your tickets while you can-It’s guaranteed to be a good one.
