Stone-Sour-HydrogradHundred Suns – The Prestaliis

Release Date: 11th August 2017

Label: New Damage Records

After smashing their crowd funding target at 117%, August eleventh marks the release of Hundred Suns debut album ‘The Prestaliis’. The band is formed of ex and current members of the groups Norma Jean, Every Time I Die and Dead & Devine. Together they have mixed their expertise to create an eleven track long musical journey, packed full of gloomy riffs, poetic lyrics and clever structures.

Proving their hard graph is more than just music, it is a work of art, the band released a video for their track titled ‘Amaranthine’, and it is absolutely spine chilling. The proceeds raised from the video are being donated to a charity named Thorn, who work to prevent child trafficking, a theme which inspired the sinister lyrics.

Every song on the album has its own unique presentation. The musical voyage takes you through every inch of the progressive rock genre, from the heaviest drops to the cleanest vocals and it sounds divine. A perfect example of this is track ‘Infinite Winter’, which sounds as if Deftones and Baroness had a heavy, grungy baby. Every layer of this track is done to harmonic perfection, flowing beautifully with the eerie lyrics.

As a whole, ‘The Prestaliis’ is a musical sensation, a must hear for any progressive rock or metal fan. Hundred Suns have brought something totally new to the table, with a mighty sound for just three musicians.
